Valérie Bavegems
I graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Ghent University (Belgium) in 1995.
I embarked on a specialization in small animal cardiology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Ghent University (Belgium). I dedicated several years to obtain a doctoral thesis titled “Clinical Cardiological Parameters In Whippets” in 2010, and until October 2016, I was responsible for cardiology consultations and theoretical lessons related to the cardio-respiratory system.
After a brief period in private practices, I worked for a veterinary pharmaceutical company for two years. However, the passion for my field led me back to clinical practice, where I wholeheartedly focus on cardiology for pets.
Expertise and interests / Work area
Owners can come to me for all cardiac examinations in dogs and cats (chest X-rays, echocardiography with Doppler, electrocardiography): both for official breed screenings and for the diagnosis and treatment of heart diseases. I place great importance on providing accurate, clear information and on handling both humans and animals gently.
"The animal's quality of life and communication with the owner will always be my main goals."
